Projects We Produce and the Samples That De-risk Them

From a 500-deck crowdfunding run to a 200,000-deck retail programme, the work starts in the same place: a physical sample you can approve. Below are the project types we handle and the five ways we sample them.

Project Types

What Kind of Card Project Comes to Us

Publishers, game studios, spiritual brands, agencies and distributors — the deck differs, the production logic does not.

◆

TCG & Collectible Launches

Base sets, chase rarities, foil and holographic treatments, reprint runs that must match the first edition.

▣

Board Games & Expansions

Card counts from 40 to 400, tokens, insert trays and boxes designed around your rulebook.

✦

Tarot & Oracle Decks

78-card or custom spreads, gilded edges, guidebooks in multiple languages and rigid magnetic boxes.

♠

Branded Playing Cards

Casino, promotional, corporate gifting and premium retail decks with custom backs and tuck boxes.

◧

Education & Flash Cards

Ring-bound sets, boxed decks, rounded corners and child-safe coatings for classroom or home use.

◉

Packaging & Booklets

Rigid boxes, tuck boxes, tin and wooden cases, rulebooks and guidebooks printed alongside the deck.

Five Ways to See the Product First

Choose the sample that answers the question you actually have — colour, feel, gameplay or retail presentation.

Digital proof
A PDF or 3D mockup of your artwork, checked for bleed, colour mode and dielines. Fastest option, usually within 1–2 working days.
Standard sample kit
Our stock selection of card stocks, laminations, foils, spot UV and boxes, dispatched in around 3 working days. Best for comparing materials before you commit.
Custom printed sample
Your own artwork printed, laminated and die-cut into a finished deck — 5–7 days after print-ready files are confirmed.
Playtest prototype
A quick-turn deck for gameplay testing before a crowdfunding campaign. Prioritises speed and card count over premium finishing.
Press proof / PP sample
A sheet or deck pulled from the same Heidelberg XL105 press run as your bulk order, so colour and stock match production exactly.

Matching the Sample to the Decision

Buyers usually need two things in a row: confidence in the supplier, then confidence in the deck. Send a kit first if the material is still open; go straight to a custom sample once the specification is fixed.

Approval

What We Ask You to Check

A sample approval is a written sign-off on six points. Confirming them once is cheaper than discovering a difference after 20,000 decks are packed.

1

Colour

Compare against your Pantone reference or brand guide, not against a backlit screen.

2

Stock & Snap

Thickness, stiffness and the sound of the shuffle — black core and blue core feel different.

3

Finish

Matte, gloss, linen, air-cushion or soft-touch, and whether the slide suits handling.

4

Cut & Registration

Card size, corner radius and how well the front and back align under the light.

5

Box & Insert

Fit of the deck in the box, tray depth, and whether a booklet fits as planned.

6

Packing Reference

Shrink wrap, carton quantity and labelling — the details your warehouse will notice.
